MUS 225: Foundations of Music Production
(3 hr / 3 cr) Creative Expressions. Learn the basics of music production, including using microphones, sequencers, MIDI, and basic workflow using a digital audio workstation. Students will work in the York College Digital Music Lab in LL02.

MUS 427 Mixing and Mastering
(3 hr / 3 cr) Using industry-standard software, apply contemporary mixing techniques to create stereo mixes and master recordings in a variety of genres (pop/rock, jazz, classical). Emphasis on digital signal processing and automation. Pre-req: MUS 225

The York College music program offers private lessons as part of our curriculum. Students must register for both MUS x86 (Studies in Music Performance) and MUS x87 (Performance Workshop) in the same semester.

MUS 186-486 Studies in Performance
(1 hr / 1 cr) Department permission required. All sections scheduled individually with the student and instructors.
If you are interested in registering for MUS 186, please contact your advisor or music program coordinator Prof. Mark Adams. New students registering for MUS 186 will need to audition with the instructor. When the student has been accepted into MUS 186, the instructor will process the permission necessary to enroll in the course on CUNYFirst.
