York Students Participate in 'Making Strides Breast Cancer Walk 2015'
Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is the American Cancer Society’s premiere event to raise awareness and money to fight the disease.
Making Strides is a 5K walk supporting the American Cancer Society’s mission to fight cancer on four fronts: research, education, advocacy, and patient services.
The event, which took place in Flushing Meadows/Corona Park, had each member donate a minimum of $5 in addition to walking. The goal was to raise $1,500, which the group exceeded by raising $1,731. There were a total of 32 members who attended as part of the society.
