York College Wins CUNY Campaign Chairperson's Award

The 2016-2017 CUNY Campaign has officially begun and York has much to celebrate.

Thanks to your participation last year, York College was the recipient of the Chairperson's Award. This award is given to the college with the highest increase in percentage participation. It is the first time that the award was won by a (CUNY) College in the borough of Queens.

In addition to this significant CUNY recognition, York College once again met its goal and won a Goal Buster Award for the EIGHTH straight year. We also received the Highest Achiever award among the senior colleges for a THIRD straight year, which is no small feat!

I am confident that York will meet its 2016 goal of $35,000. But, we will need your renewed gift in order to do this and try to keep the Chairperson's Award on our campus for another year.

We will have drawings for staff to win a variety of prizes, which include store gift cards and other items. If you submit your pledge by Friday, December 2nd, you will also be entered into CUNY's lottery to receive a Fitbit Blaze Smart Fitness Watch. So, the earlier you make your CUNY campaign donation, the more chances you have to win these prizes, so enter your pledge today!

There are two ways to participate:

  1. Go to https://www.giveattheoffice.org/_cuny and make your pledge online.
  2. Submit a paper pledge form to your department's Campaign Captain. You can download a printable pledge form.

The Charitable Organizations Brochure can be found at http://cuny.edu/site/campaign/donate/2016_CUNYCampaignBrochure.pdf.

To make a pledge, you must know your NYS Employee ID number, located on your paystub. It begins "N and zero"

If, for some reason you cannot locate your Employee ID information, fill out the other sections of the pledge form and submit it to your area's Campaign Captain, who is available to help you with the pledge process and answer any questions you may have.

You have many charitable organizations to choose from, but we hope you will consider supporting the York College Foundation [code number 14208], to help provide scholarships to our students.

CUNY is repeating the theme of the "Power of One for this year's campaign." But, at York College, it is the "Strength of Many" that will help us not only meet, but exceed our CUNY Campaign goal.

Again, thank you for your support.
