York Alum Featured in 100 inspiring Hispanic/Latinx scientists in America

Dr. Fernandez '13, who earned his Ph.D. in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University earlier this year and is now in a Prestigious post-doctoral Program at Columbia University, has been featured in Cell Mentor's 100 inspiring Hispanic/Latinx scientists in America.
In honor of National Hispanic Heritage Month, Cell Mentor showcased 100 of the most inspiring Hispanic/Latinx scientists working in the United States. The list—selected based on scholarly achievements, mentoring excellence, and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion—represents only a subset of the scientific role models in the community.
In addition to Dr. Fernandez's remarkable academic career, he is also the co-founder of Cientifico Latino, a mentorship program that helps students to enter and navigate STEM graduate school in the US.
"[I am] proud to have been selected as a Rising Star for the 100 inspiring Hispanic/Latinx scientists in America! I will always continue to work to make science accessible to everyone," says Fernandez, now in a post-doctoral program at Columbia University.
Congratulations Dr. Fernandez York College is proud of your accomplishments and can't wait to hear more!
