Sad Announcement from Interim President Eanes
Dr. Yves Roseus of the Occupational Therapy Department was a York alumnus and adjunct assistant professor, senior occupational therapist for Brookdale hospital, ACOTE Accreditor, Board Member of the New York State Occupational Therapy Association and Office of the Black Caucus of the New York State Occupational therapy Association. As his department chair, Professor Donald Auriemma has said he “dedicated his life to the service of humanity.”
Professor Roseus is survived by his wife Marie and 5 children. I extend sincere condolences to Dr. Roseus’ family and his York OT family of students and colleagues.
We have also lost a dedicated member of our custodial staff. Luis Diaz, who served York for over 20 years took pride in his work. He is said to have loved motorcycles and as a member of the Jamaica YMCA, was committed to health and physical fitness. I extend condolences to his family and his department colleagues and friends. When we are able to be back together on campus we will celebrate the lives and contributions of all our colleagues lost during this time.
In the meantime, please take care of yourselves and should any faculty/staff need support coping with the stress of these uncertain times, it is recommended that you reach out to the University’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider, Deer Oaks. Deer Oaks may be reached at 1-888-993-7650, or online at www.deeroaks.com with login and password CUNY. As usual call, text, and or e-mail anytime.
