As we continue to resume our normal collegiate activities following the interruption caused by Hurricane Sandy, I want to restate my thank you for the outstanding job members of the college community continue to do in keeping York open as a safe harbor for those who needed us. Special thanks go to all of the staff of Public Safety, Buildings and Grounds, IT, and our Custodial Team who worked countless hours to keep evacuee guests safe. Please know that the whole college appreciates what you have done and continue to do during our city's time of crisis.
I also want the college community to know, especially our students, that a number of essential offices ( in addition to instruction) will be open tomorrow - Saturday, November 10. The offices include: Admissions, Testing, Bursar, Financial Aid, Academic Advisement, Health Services and the Registrar's Office.
Finally, to the students, faculty, and staff who regularly use the Health and Physical Education Complex (HPCE), I thank you for your ongoing patience with being displaced from the facility, which houses Physical Education classes and practice spaces, as York continues to host a large number of special needs persons. I assure you that we are working with CUNY and with city officials to reopen the HPCE facility at the earliest possible time.
Thanks for your words of encouragement.
