President Eanes Does JCAL Talks

York's president, Dr. Berenecea Johnson Eanes was recently the featured speaker for "JCAL Talks."

JCAL stands for Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning and has been a staple of the Jamaica community for nearly 50 years. Located at 161-04 Jamaica Avenue, in Jamaica, Queens, the non-profit fine and performing arts organization is described as "a multidisciplinary urban arts center" providing numerous exhibits plus dance, plays and classes to community members, particularly children. Interim Director Leonard Jacobs, launched the speaker series, "JCAL Talks" during the COVID shutdown; and President Eanes was the third participant and first in-person speaker since the series began. The question and answer format, with Jacobs doing the questioning, allowed President Eanes to reveal herself and York in a different format. The interview has now been posted and we share it here.
