York Assistant to Participate in Inaugural NCAA Leadership Forum

Jessica Cherry, the Assistant Athletic Director at York College, has been selected to take part in the inaugural NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum.

Only 30 college athletic professionals from Division I, II, III were chosen to serve as facilitators for the Leadership Forum, which will take place October 21-24, 2010 at the Disney Contemporary Hotel in Orlando, Florida.

The 2010 NCAA Student-Athlete Leadership Forum is a four-day event that will engage a diverse and dynamic representation of student-athletes, coaches, faculty and administrators and provide pertinent and customized sessions that will enhance personal awareness and leadership skills needed to impact student-athlete development at the campus and conference level, and beyond the collegiate realm.

As a facilitator, Cherry will be responsible for mentoring participants, volunteering resources and time to student-athletes and providing student-athletes, coaches and administrators with an energetic and engaging learning environment.

“The Department of NCAA Student-Affairs worked tirelessly to make this forum extraordinary,“ said Cherry. “The training has been rigorous, but the administrators that were chosen are an energetic group of people who exude leadership.  They are the epitome of professionalism on campus.  I’m happy and excited the NCAA chose me.”
