Dr. Thomas Says Goodbye to York

To the York College Family from VP Geneva Walker-Johnson

Many of you may have heard by now that Dr. Thomas Gibson, Associate Dean of Student Development at York College, has accepted a position as Associate Vice President for Student Affairs at Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana. He will therefore be leaving York at the end of September.

For the past four years Dean Gibson has served the students of York College with insight and creativity while contributing to the division and the overall college as a dedicated colleague providing leadership to the SEEK Program, Men’s Center-BMI, Counseling, Career Services, and Students with Disabilities (the STAR program) and the First Year Experience and Retention programs, organize the Transfer Students' Initiative, Student Discipline proceedings, Study Abroad, Study Away and a host of other responsibilities.

As one of my partners in Student Development, I have come to depend on Dean Gibson's steady leadership style and commitment to our students. He leaves York with our very best wishes for a successful tenure at Ball State. And so on behalf of President Marcia V. Keizs, our students, faculty and staff, I thank him for his service to York College.
