The York College Distance-Learning Chromebook and iPad request service is now available for the fall semester 2020. If you have filled out a distance learning request for a device, you will receive an email confirming your request and a follow-up phone call to confirm your need and insure you receive the best support possible. Once your need is validated after your follow-up call the requested device will be boxed and sent to our Receiving department, there our dedicated distribution representatives will confirm your mailing address a second time with the shipping carriers, created labels and insure packages are properly sealed and ready for pickup by the delivery carrier. This process can take several days depending on when your request was received, if we were able to make phone contact with you, if you provided a Yorkmail address, and your mailing address is confirmed.
The follow-up call consists of confirming your student status, validating your phone number, validating you have a York mail account if you did not provide one, confirming your address and responding to any special needs. If you already own technology that works for your distance learning, do not enter a request. The goal is to serve our students who have the most need.
We will try our very best to accommodate all who need a device to work remotely.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Dear York College Students:
We know many of you are emailing and calling about access to devices over the last week as we transition to distance learning. There is plans to distribute iPads and Chromebooks for students in need of distance - learning technology. Devices have been ordered and expected to arrive at a central location initially between March 27th and April 1st. And then distributed to our campus.
York students who don't currently have a wifi enabled device may qualify to receive one. Interested students must fill out a Distance-Learning Equipment Request Assessment, this link will available UNTIL TUESDAY NOON. Students who qualify after they have taken a survey will be directed to make an appointment online to schedule the pick up and signoff for their wifi enabled device. Students who do not qualify will be given a chance to appeal in order that a thorough review is done which provides everyone with a fair chance to receive these devices. Please note:
- Each unit will be tested, sanitized, asset tagged and come with a user guide and a loaner agreement that will be placed inside the box for signature. iPads will come with a protected case. There will be processes in place to ensure social distancing and protection for all parties during pick up.
Information Technology Services will continue to provide updates on this and other critical distance-learning related information as we approach the delivery of these much needed tools.
