CUNY Policy related to Purchases and the Use of MWBE vendors

The City University of New York’s Supplier Diversity program was designed to promote contracting opportunities for NYS-certified minority, women (MWBE) and service-disabled veteran-owned (SDVOB) businesses in accordance with NYS Executive Law Article 15-A and 17-B, 5 NYCRR Parts 140-145, and CUNY policy. Accordingly, York College is dedicated to promoting fairness and equity for M/WBEs and SDVOBs in accessing and participating on CUNY procurement opportunities.

Governor Cuomo has made increasing M/WBE and SDVOB participation a priority of his administration. The University shares his commitment and the below Supplier Diversity Participation Goals represent a continued commitment to awarding M/WBEs and SDVOBs a fair share of CUNY contracts.

All York College departmental purchases should be undertaken with these goals in mind.  Additionally, where possible, the Purchasing Office will award all requests for purchases to MWBE or SVDOB vendors in order to ensure that York College is aligned with the University mandate to meet these goals.
