Chief Diversity Officer/ Title IX Coordinator/ 504/ADA Coordinator

I'm pleased to introduce Arlene Peterson to the school as our interim Chief Diversity Officer/ Title IX Coordinator/ 504/ADA Coordinator. Arlene has 15 years of experience working at CUNY in various leadership positions including Chief Diversity Officer & 504/ADA Coordinator roles at campuses, such as LaGuardia and Guttman community colleges, and most recently the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism. She has worked with York previously and has extensive experience working with student leaders in the public (CUNY) and private universities including Pace University in the Lubin School of Business and the School of Visual Arts.

We are particularly fortunate to have recruited Arlene to our school this summer, as there is a tremendous shortage of qualified personnel at CUNY who can take on this role, given its complex compliance and regulatory aspects. Arlene earned her MS in Higher Education Administration and BA in Psychology from SUNY Buffalo State College, and has multiple certificates from

Cornell University Industrial and Labor Relations (ILR) School. She will be working remotely and can be reached by email at apeterson1@york.cuny.edu or by phone at (718) 262-2137.

Arlene will be assuming the responsibilities that Arletha "Lisa" Miles-Boyce had previously occupied. Please join me in welcoming Arlene to our campus full time in this interim capacity as we launch a search for a permanent placement.
