Chancellor Matos Rodríguez Shares Message

Chancellor Félix V. Matos Rodríguez' shared a statement about the election on his social media accounts on November 3rd, 2020 when the polls in New York closed.

Many of us are greatly invested in the process of electing our president, this year likely more than others. But our democracy provides many opportunities to work for change. No matter who you supported, Election Day does not end the many challenges we face. Education gives us the most tested path to bringing our nation back together.

Kudos to our The City University of New York community, for exercising the right to vote and finding other ways to engage in our democratic process. To our faculty, I urge you to continue doing what you do best, using this momentous election as a teachable moment. To our students, you are our present and our future. Use your experiences as a CUNY student and New Yorker to continue to fight for a better society around you.
