Campus Access Procedure
Visitor Access to Campus
Visitor, vendor, and contractor need to pre-register in Cleared4 following these steps:
- Self-Register in Cleared4 Visitor Campus Access and provide a mobile number
- Upload Vaccination Proof or a Negative Test
- Wait for verification of the uploaded document
- Show their Cleared4 at the Public Safety post to gain access
Student, Faculty, and Staff Access to Campus
You will need to show a green pass which indicates you are either fully vaccinated or have a negative COVID-19 test obtained from a CUNY testing center. You can do this one of two ways:
Use the YC Cardinal App/YC VAX App to enter the Campus
The YC Vax App provides a green or red token based on the vaccination verification and testing available from CUNYfirst. A Green Token will be required for students, faculty, and staff to access the campus.
- Select Your Experience "Student"
- Use your York College Network Account username and password
(your account to access your campus resources, not your email or CUNYfirst account)
- Select Your Experience "Faculty/Staff"
- Use your yorkcollege\York College Network Account username (e.g. "yorkcollege\jdoe")
- Enter your password
The Cleared4 system will now serve as the “CUNY Access Pass” for all vaccinated students and employees.
Look for an email from "email@example.com" so you can complete your registration and get their new “green” pass.
Vaccinated employees and students will receive two emails from firstname.lastname@example.org to their primary email account listed in CUNYfirst. The text of the email message is provided below. The new Cleared4 access pass will expire one year after the date of the final shot required to be fully vaccinated. The Everbridge Vaxpass system will no longer be available as of September 27, 2021.
Email 1 – Welcome Message
As your fully vaccinated status has been submitted, verified, and approved, you have been entered into the Cleared4 system. You will receive a second email granting you a CUNY Access Pass that can be used to quickly enter CUNY facilities. To access and present this pass, please visit your Cleared4 personal <Unique Employee Link>. Do not share your link with others. Note that the Cleared4 pass is replacing the Everbridge VaxPass, which will no longer be used to gain entry to CUNY facilities after September 27, 2021.
Email 2 – Access Pass Granted
You have been granted a CUNY Access Pass in the Cleared4 system. This pass is replacing the Everbridge Vaxpass and may be required to enter a CUNY college or building. Once you have completed registering in Cleared4, you can access or print your pass by pasting your personal link <Unique Employee Link> into any web browser and clicking on your Show Access pass. You can also show your pass on your phone or smart device. Please do not share this link with others. To learn more about using the Cleared4 system, search for “Cleared4” in the cunyithelp.cuny.edu website.
Please take a look at the CUNY Access - Cleared4 Guide for Vaccinated CUNY Students, Faculty and Staff in CUNY IT Help for information on setting up and using Cleared4 instead of Everbridge VaxPass or Excelsior. Cleared4 FAQs are available in CUNY IT Help as well.
Cleared4 - Spring 2022
Student members of the community who have medical/religious exemptions or faculty/staff who are choosing not to reveal vaccination status:
You can go to any CUNY campus for testing (at York, the testing center is near the entrance of the parking lot). Test results will be processed within 24 hours (48 hours on weekends) and can be accessed by computer or smartphone.
ADCL has retained Cleared4 health verification management system to provide the platform through which participants can register for the program, schedule a test appointment, receive test results, and display proof of testing. Once registered, participants will receive an overview of the program and instructions on how to proceed. Appointment scheduling, negative test results, and other communications will all flow through the Cleared4 platform. Again, at York, the testing center is located near the entrance of the parking lot but you can go to any CUNY campus to obtain a test.
