Dear York College Community, It gives me great pleasure to inform you that we have successfully completed the search for a Dean of Students, resulting in the appointment of Dr. Vincent Banrey. Dr. Banrey's extensive experience as a higher education professional uniquely qualifies him to succeed as Dean of Students at York College.

Vincent Banrey, Ph.D. Associate Dean for Student Development

Dr. Banrey knows CUNY well having experienced the university from both the student perspective and the executive perspective earning an associate's degree in Business Administration from LaGuardia Community College, a CUNY BA in Business Administration; and a MPA from Baruch College, before earning the PhD in Higher Education Administration from New York University in 2008.

Dr. Banrey's professional career has spanned over 37 years within CUNY starting as an Activities Coordinator within Student Affairs at LaGuardia Community College in 1977. While at LaGuardia he also served as the Director of Student Life and Development and Associate Director of Student Support Services. In 2000, Dr. Banrey joined the staff at Medgar Evers College as the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services. He later served as the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and most recently as the Senior Director of Academic Advising and Student Success.

Dr. Banrey also served in the following positions: Chairperson of the Student Activities Directors Council/CUNY; Member of The City University of New York Chief Student Affairs Administrators Executive Council; and Chair of the CUNY Enrollment Management and Student Development Personnel Conference Planning Committee. He has presented at various regional and national conferences on topics related to student leadership development, academic advising, and impact of support services on student retention.

"I look forward to contributing to the success of students by working toward delivering essential academic and other support services so they can become academically successful," says Dr. Banrey, whose leadership philosophy is to "always put students first."
