Applications for Summer Pre-law Program

Dear Students,

Are you an outstanding student (in any major) who is interested in law?

This is the program for you!

My name is Robin Harper and I am the pre-law advisor at York. We are looking for qualified candidates (sophomores and juniors) to participate in the Ronald H. Brown Pre-Law Summer Program at St. John's University Law School in which talented sophomores and juniors learn what it takes to become a lawyer.

The goal of the program is to reach out to minority, low income and first generation college students and give them the tools and support to pursue the study of law and become attorneys. The students have a simulated law school experience, have an internship with a judge and with private law firms or public defenders and receive a full spectrum of support services to help shape their applications and be successful on the LSAT and beyond. This award-wining program has had tremendous success getting students accepted into law school and getting scholarships. (Students have received partial and full scholarships). Some were accepted to schools considered the top ranked in the nation, like Yale, NYU and Berkeley. Students are matched with mentors to shepherd them from application to the Bar and beyond. For the past three years, students have also had a private admissions fair where they interview with law school admissions deans. In short, this is an amazing program that can open many doors for the right students.

If you want to be a lawyer, there is no better program in the nation than this award-winning one. I have attached an application to this email. Paper applications are available in 4D06, the Behavioral Sciences Office and online under pre-law on the Behavioral Sciences webpage.
