Do you need a Device for Distance Learning?

The York College Distance-Learning Chromebook and iPad request service is now available for the fall semester 2020. If you have filled out a distance learning request for a device, you will receive an email confirming your request and a follow-up phone call to confirm your need and insure you receive the best support possible. Once your need is validated after your follow-up call the requested device will be boxed and sent to our Receiving department, there our dedicated distribution representatives will confirm your mailing address a second time with the shipping carriers, created labels and insure packages are properly sealed and ready for pickup by the delivery carrier. This process can take several days depending on when your request was received, if we were able to make phone contact with you, if you provided a Yorkmail address, and your mailing address is confirmed.
The follow-up call consists of confirming your student status, validating your phone number, validating you have a York mail account if you did not provide one, confirming your address and responding to any special needs. If you already own technology that works for your distance learning, do not enter a request. The goal is to serve our students who have the most need.
