Smart Classroom Access and Use
Dear Faculty & Staff
This is a reminder from York College CIO Peter Tighe on the access and use of all Smart Classrooms on campus. It is essential for all York College faculty and staff to maintain proper procedures and protocols while using these rooms. Security and personal safety as well as the maintenance of all the equipment in working order is benefited when we all work together.
The following applies to all the rooms listed below:
Smart Classrooms are to be locked at the end of each class, so faculty assigned to a smart classroom will require either a room key or now with the new card key access system, a new ID card and a key code. Access for these rooms are maintained by the Office of Public Safety upon submission of a completed Smart Classroom Access Request Form. This form indicates the room assignment and requires the signature of your Department Chairperson. Smart Classroom Request Forms are available at our Public Safety Office on level 1 of the Academic Core Building near the Liberty Avenue entrance.
Please check with Public Safety regarding the schedule for issuing Smart Classroom access privileges.
Also, please be aware that the Colleges Service Desk has created a priority Hotline and a web hotlink form for in session classroom technology support (718-262-5303). Calls to this number will be given priority over other incoming calls to our Service Desk in an effort to provide the quickest possible response. The web hotlink automates the contact and alerting of our smart classroom support. Here is the link: https://www.york.cuny.edu/it/SmartRooms_Kiosk-form
Should you have questions or need assistance in the use of Smart Classroom systems you can contact Wenying Huang-Stolte, or telephone (718-262-2826).
In addition, an online Smart Classroom tutorial is available on the College website.
