Queen Soraya Tarzi
Queen Soraya Tarzi, is an influential woman figure in Afghanistan. Queen Soraya was married to King Amanullah Khan, who was a progressive ruler of Afghanistan from 1919-1929. She was an well educated and ferocious advocate for women’s rights. Her advocacy for women’s rights led to girls access to education. Queen Soraya was able to open the first school for girls, and established the first magazine for women. She changed the vision for women in Afghanistan, inspiring young women till this day.
