Dr. Vincent Banrey Bio
Dr. Vincent Banrey knows CUNY well having experienced the university from both the student and administrator perspective. His professional career has spanned over 40 years within CUNY starting as an Activities Coordinator within Student Affairs at LaGuardia Community College in 1977. While at LaGuardia, he also served as the Director of Student Life and Development and Associate Director of Student Support Services. In 2000, Dr. Banrey joined Medgar Evers College as the Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Services. He later served as the Executive Director of Enrollment Management and Senior Director of Academic Advising and Student Success. Dr. Banrey then joined York College as the Associate Dean of Students and shortly thereafter served as Acting Dean for Student Development. In October of 2016, he was appointed as the Vice President for Student Development.
Dr. Banrey earned his Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from New York University; an MPA in Public Administration from Baruch College; a BS in Business Administration from the CUNY Baccalaureate Program; and an Associate in Business Administration from LaGuardia Community College. He has presented at various regional, national and international conferences on topics related to student leadership development, academic advising, and impact of support services on student persistence and retention. During his tenure in higher education, his philosophy has been to “always put students first.”

Purpose: A monetary award and medal, to recognize a junior or senior (60 plus credits) for their outstanding service to York College and its students. The monetary award is to be used toward school expenses (i.e. tuition, books, transportation, etc.).
