1. Computer Laboratories $104,822
Specialized and general use laboratories are located throughout the campus. Of these, AC- 2E03 in the Academic Core and a complex of computer labs on the second floor in the Classroom Building (C201) are the most heavily used and serve diverse purposes. These labs serve students College-wide and are used by 90-100 courses across all disciplines each semester. Over the past two years, we have replaced most of the computers in the Classroom Building and half of these in AC-2E03. During 2005-06, we plan to continue to improve access by upgrading additional computers in AC-2E03, which is heavily used by the Computer Science and Information Management Systems programs, as well as replacement computers and printers in laboratories in the Classroom Building. In addition, we will maintain student access to laboratories for open use utilizing extended and special hours scheduling.
In addition, improvements and upgrades will be made to specialized computer laboratories throughout the campus including the Writing Center, the Academic Achievement Center, the Student Government Computer Laboratory, and the Multimedia Laboratory. As requested and approved by the Technology Fee Committee, purchases will be made of software upgrades and specialized academic titles.
