Unit Mission

We provide supportive services for the growth and development of women as they pursue academic and life-long goals. In addition, we provide resources and support for women to empower themselves and others. These services are available to students, alumni, faculty, staff, and the surrounding community regardless of gender, age, ethnicity, or religion. To achieve our goals we provide programs and opportunities designed to contribute to the growth and well-being of all York College students.

Domestic Violence/Intimate Partner Violence Education & Awareness

Retention of trained peer-led domestic/ intimate partner advocates.

Divisional Goal

Implement services that support the personal development, health, safety, and wellness of York College students.

Increase the number of students participating in internship and experiential learning programs.

Rationale for the Plan

  • Continue to build on the success of the existing foundation for the Domestic Violence program and expand the reach into the College Community.
  • Formalize and create a new mentoring/ networking program that the students have requested

Data Collection and Evaluation

For the Domestic Violence Program, data collection will take place throughout the year as we train new advocates and they make presentations to the college community.

For the Mentoring/ Networking program, data collection will take place throughout the year.

The Center has a full-time staff or one (1) person so the director will evaluate/ analyze and interpret all data.
