Unit Mission

The mission of the Counseling Center is to provide opportunities for students to define and actualize their potential toward personal, educational, and career goals through individualized, evidence-based, and culturally sensitive counseling services.

Outcome 1

Unit Goal

Assist students who are on academic probation to learn effective strategies for regaining good academic standing.

Unit Outcome

Students who are on probation and attend probation workshops will identify one strategy or a plan of action to improve their academic standing.

Offer programs that enhance student persistence, retention, and graduation rates.

Rationale for the Plan

Working with students on probation is one of our primary functions. It is imperative for us to assess the effectiveness of the probation workshops for supporting students to regain their good academic standing. By focusing on the effectiveness of the probation, we can make the necessary changes to the program we offer.

Data Collection and Evaluation

The data collection will be ongoing throughout the year for the post-training survey. The students academic standing will be available after the end of the semester. Three staff will be involved, including college assistants.
