The nature of disability accommodations and how they are fulfilled is changing constantly, and facilitating accommodations is an effort that requires the equal participation of both CSD staff and York College faculty and staff. Giving these presentations, will inform faculty of their responsibility in the process of facilitating accommodations and encourage a working relationship with CSD to guarantee equal access for students who have disabilities.

Incoming students who receive accommodations, particularly students who received accommodations at the high school level, may not have had any experience with assistive technology before joining the program. By getting an understanding of their initial familiarity with the technology and how it works with their accommodations, CSD can better prepare training programs and workshops that can address the specific needs of students while also taking their technological proficiency into account.
