Unit Mission

The mission of the NYSBDC at York College is to assist in the creation of new enterprises,advance the operations of existing businesses and to enhance entrepreneurs' technical skills.

Unit Goal

Help develop experimental learning and practical business skills for York College student interns.

Rationale for the Plan

Successful local economic development will depend on the mobilization of local resources to expand the MWBE pool from predominantly construction contractors to encompass more technology-based, professional services and MWBE suppliers.In addition. York SBDC business advisors will continue to work with local MWBEs to complete their ACDBE federal certification applications to become concessionaires at JFK Airport. If accepted, these clients would be trailblazers as concession owners at LaGuardia and future JFK project.

Data Collection and Evaluation

Data collection is expected to begin Spring 2020. The SBDC Director is the point of contact for the unit's assessment; the actual collecting, evaluating, and analyzing of data is conducted by staff at the State office.
