Every year, colleges and universities across the country are asked to create events to remember the Constitution under the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2005, Public Law 108-447 (the most recent iteration of the law on Constitution Day).

Guest Speakers:

  • Benjamin Becker is the editor of the recent book Shackled and Chained: Mass Incarceration in Capitalist America by Eugene Puryear.
  • Rukia Lumumba is the Director of the Youth Programs Department at CASES (Center for Alternative Sentencing and Employment Services) where she focuses on issues of criminal and juvenile justice reform and service development. She is a mass incarceration activist, educator and grassroots leader.
  • Kerbie Joseph is a York alumna and mass incarceration activist.
