Joe started his own office furniture and design dealership in 1997, which has moved forward and steady grown for the past eleven years, going from annual sales of One Hundred Sixty Eight Thousand in its first year of operation to Ten Million. In 2009, he established a subsidiary to augment JFD Sales Consulting Services offers interior renovations, a TURN KEY CONCEPT.
JFD Sales is a minority owned SDB supplying space planning, design, flooring, office furniture, delivery, installations, Electrical, Voice and Data, and office interior renovations. From hospital rooms to dorms, JFD has designed, reconfigured, refurbished, and relocated and installed more than 3 million square feet of commercial space in the past 12 years.
Currently, JFD employs 15-20 highly experienced individuals and has the ultimate goal of servicing clients nationally. In recent developments to accomplish this goal, JFD has been awarded two federal GSA contracts and also received 8(a) certification status. It now has the capacity to serve as a prime on interior construction projects. York SBDC staff members and our Procurement Portability project consultants were able to assist in achieving these breakthroughs.
Shortly after the 9/11 incident, Joe developed a working relationship with the York College SBDC. As one to give back to the community, Joe has given several dynamic workshops for small business owners and members of the York College Entrepreneur club. In deepening our ties, Joe has indicated a willingness to give serious consideration to designated M/WBEs that have our stamp of approval and provide possible contract opportunities.
