For Students on Academic Probation
The York College Counseling Center is open remotely. Due to the outbreak of the COVID-19, the probation advisement is conducted on ZOOM.
Probation Advisement Holds (ADV/PROB) are placed on students' CUNYfirst accounts when a student has been placed on academic probation. To register for FA ‘21 and SU ‘21 semesters, students on probation are required to meet with a counselor for probation advisement. After the meeting, the counselor will remove both the advisement hold and the probation hold.
Probation Advisement sessions are one-on-one ZOOM meetings with a Counseling Center counselor. They will provide crucial information about the implications of being on probation, assist with registering the courses, help identify areas students need to improve in, and empower students to take ownership of their college careers.
Please contact the Counseling Center at (718) 262-2272 or (718) 262-2297 to schedule an appointment. Please leave a message if the line is busy.
Alternative, you may schedule a probation advisement session via our Virtual Front Desk. The Virtual Front Desk is open Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 11am - 12pm.
