York College Celebrates the class of 2023

Commencement save the date Thursday, June 1 in the UBS arena

Hello Graduating Students,

Congratulations on your upcoming graduation! We are so excited and proud to celebrate this milestone with you, your family, and your friends.

Mark Your Calendars! Your Commencement is on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at UBS Arena and we hope you will be there to walk across the stage in honor of everything you’ve accomplished.

While graduation is the pinnacle day of your celebration, there are other important dates leading up to your special day.

Students should arrive at the UBS 'Loading Dock' beginning at 8:30 am
Guests can begin entering the area through the main entrance at 9:30 am
Ceremony Start Time: 10:30 am
Ceremony End Time: 2:30 pm after final students have crossed the stage. Don't miss the confetti canon picture-perfect ending!

Senior Portraits

Portraits will be taken on Tuesday, March 28 - Friday, March 31 from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM and on Saturday, April 1 from 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM. You must make an appointment up to 24 hours in advance.

Caps and Gowns

Caps and gowns are available through Jostens - The deadline to place an order and receive it in time for graduation is April 21, 2023. If you order after the deadline, expedited shipping fees may apply.

MarchingOrder

If you plan to attend the commencement ceremony and want tickets, YOU MUST Register for MarchingOrder. MarchingOrder is a registration system that informs us whether you plan to attend and cross the stage at Commencement. Most importantly, this database is used to distribute digital tickets in May for the ceremony on June 1.

The MarchingOrder system opens on April 7 and the deadline to register is May 6, 2023. You will receive an email from Commencement@york.cuny.edu to your preferred email in CUNY First. Please follow the prompts.

Tickets

UBS Arena will provide graduates with 5 digital tickets to transfer to their friends and family. Graduates DO NOT need a ticket. Graduates: Please check the email that you use to register for MarchingOrder mid-May for more details on downloading your tickets.

We will not have information about extra tickets until after Senior Salute April 18-19. An announcement will be made the week after regarding the availability of extra tickets.

Transportation

Starting 2/28/23, every Long Island Rail Road train on the Ronkonkoma, Huntington, and Hempstead lines now stops at the Elmont-UBS Arena Station. This means there are more trains stopping at UBS Arena all day, every day, whether you are coming from east or west of the arena.

Grand Central Madison, the new Long Island Rail Road station located on the west side of Grand Central Terminal, under Vanderbilt Avenue, is open with direct LIRR service to and from UBS Arena. Now you can get to UBS Arena in just 31 minutes from either Grand Central or Penn Station.

The Hicksville Station, which is a 13 minute ride to UBS Arena and $3.25 fare, now offers fans many more trains per hour running to and from making the trip from east of the arena easier than ever.

Shuttles are available before and after events to transfer guests between the Elmont-UBS Arena Station and UBS Arena.
