Technology Connections

York College provides a number of technological resources for faculty to use in pedagogically effective ways.

Blackboard, a web-based server software, can provide web-enhanced or online courses. To access a course on Blackboard, a CUNY portal account is needed. Academic Computing/ Educational Technology (ACET) provides Blackboard workshops, an instructor manual, and helpful use documents in PDF format. For more information go to Blackboard/faculty.

Podcasting allows faculty to record lectures that can be downloaded by students as an MP3 file and then played using any of the major media players. ACET provides equipment and assistance for creating podcasts, as well as links to information about the use of podcasts in educational settings. For more information go to podcasts.
