Just-in-Time Teaching (JiTT) is a pedagogy that allows students to be engaged in course material outside of the classroom; students answer web-based questions which are summarized and presented to students in class with follow-up active learning exercises. Dr. Guertin will describe how students, despite increasing and competing pressures outside of the classroom, report increased learning and engagement in courses using JiTT exercises, and she will present assessment data that show students are able to construct new knowledge.
