STEP 1: Apply for Admissions
Please visit the CUNY website to prepare for the admissions process at www.cuny.edu/prepare.
STEP 2: Transcript(s) Evaluation
Once you have been accepted to York College, your college transcript(s) will be evaluated by the Registrar’s Office for credit toward your degree.
STEP 3: Certificate of Eligibility
Once you have been accepted to York college and have received the acceptance letter, you will then need to prove to the United States government that you can meet the financial obligations of pursuing a full course of study here for at least one academic year. Proof of your financial ability is documented in the form of a Certificate of Eligibility, also known as the SEVIS I-20.
STEP 4: Transfer SEVIS records
Once you have received your acceptance letter, you must forward a Transfer Enrollment Status Form to your International Student Advisor at your current school so that your SEVIS record may be electronically transferred to York College.
STEP 5: Register for classes
When you have been accepted to York College, you will need to submit your immunization documents to the Health Services Office and you may need to take the CUNY Assessment Test.
