Chi Sigma MSW Chapter of Phi Alpha National Honor Society

MSW scholars are given the opportunity to become members of the Phi Alpha National Honor Society, Chi Sigma Chapter of York College of the City University of New York.

The Chi Sigma MSW chapter of Phi Alpha National Honor Society was chartered in February 2018 to, provide a closer bond among scholars of social work and to promote humanitarian goals and ideas. Phi Alpha fosters high standards of education for social workers and invites into membership those who have attained excellence in scholarship and achievement in social work. MSW membership is open to graduate majors who maintain a 3.5 GPA or higher.

A Phi Alpha Honor Society, Chi Sigma Chapter pinning ceremony will be held to recognize graduate majors. Members of Phi Alpha Honor Society, Chi Sigma Chapter are also invited to participation at the annual York College Honor’s Ceremony. The honor cords and Phi Alpha are worn during annual commencement.
