Questions & Answers

I am still taking prerequisite classes; do I have to wait until I’m finished to apply?

Applicants must complete outstanding prerequisite courses by the end of Spring semester prior to admission. In the Spring semester students can be registered for no more than two OT prerequisites, with no more than one course being a Natural Science course. A grade of C or better is required for all OT prerequisites.

Applicants must include a copy of course registration in the application packet as proof of prerequisite registration and must turn in official transcript with course grade once the course is completed.

Additionally, OT prerequisites taken more than 10 years ago must be repeated.

Is there a fee for the OT application?

The OT program application has no fees associated with it, however, if you are applying to York College as well you may be subject to CUNY application fees.

I filled out an application online for OT and never heard anything back from the department/I applied to York College for the OT program and got an acceptance letter but haven’t heard anything else from the department.

It sounds like you completed a CUNY application to York College, as our application cannot be submitted online.  Our program has a separate admissions process and its own application; however, if you are not already a York College student, both applications must be completed to be considered for admission to the OT program.

You are required to request transcripts from the Registrars office of each college school (CUNY/SUNY/etc.) you've attended and forward the sealed envelopes to the OT Department.

If you are a York student you MUST print out an unofficial transcript and submit with your application.

Note: The school application documents will not be forwarded to the OT Department. The school and OT Department have their own seperate applications, deadlines and forms. You must submit official transcripts with your OT application.
