Fall 2011 – Spring 2012: WBAI Radio Series on the Recession and Joblessness

A long form, in depth series of news reports on unemployment as the U.S. economy pulls out of a major recession.

Researched, reported, wrote and edited a four part radio news series at WBAI-Pacifica Radio Network in New York City on 99.5 FM. Produced the radio news reports on the U.S. economy and the long term jobless. Each of the four reports were long-form news feature reports, approximately five minutes in length.

  • Part one of the series was an overview of the weak economy and long-term joblessness with an employment expert, an economist, and a personal finance writer.

  • Part two took a special look at a Brooklyn jobs training program that helps job-hunters train for their truck and bus driver’s licenses.
