CUNYfirst Announcement

The CUNYfirst Central team is now announcing target dates when they will add new tools for six more colleges (BMCC, Brooklyn College, College of Staten Island, Hunter College, New York City College of Technology and York College).

This is their current planned timeline for Wave Three Campus Solutions launch which will also affect all CUNYfirst users around the University:

Friday March 22 - Close of Business Day (5pm) - SIMS and TIFF (BMCC) shutdown for Wave Three Colleges - All data is frozen at close of the business day and cutover activities begin.

When that happens, CUNYfirst remains up for all colleges, all applications. eSIMS remains live at Baruch College, City College, John Jay College of Justice, Medgar Evers College and the School of Professional Studies. Banner remains live for the CUNY Graduate Center, Graduate School of Journalism and CUNY BA.

During the dates between March 22 and April 1, college personnel at the Wave Three Colleges will record all transactions involving student data, which will need to be updated manually once the CUNYfirst system is live and available. After a short outage, SIMS will be available for reports and inquiries at those colleges.

Wednesday March 27 - Close of Business Day (5pm) All current live CUNYfirst applications will be unavailable for Wave One and Two Campus Solutions, and University-wide Human Capital Management/Talent Acquisition Management, Budgeting, Procurement for NY City Business Units, Faculty Workload and the General Ledger. There will be announcements when tasks are completed and CUNYfirst is available again to our user communities.

Our current plan has CUNYfirst being the operational Student Administrative system at the Wave Three Colleges starting on Monday April 1. We also expect to have all CUNYfirst applications available for all current users. For the first few days, we will work with the Wave 3 Colleges as they prepare for their first registration efforts in CUNYfirst for Summer and Fall 2013 semesters.

There will be no outage of our training and testing systems during this time.
