Job Vacancy | Clinical Professor - Social Work Program

York College of the City University of New York (CUNY) invites applications for a Clinical Professor to manage field education and teach coursework in CSWE-accredited Social Work program annually in a 9-month clinical track, non-tenure position.

Clinical professors perform teaching and research duties, which may include clinical instruction. Clinical Professors are highly-experienced practitioners or teachers who hold non-tenure track positions.

The successful candidate will oversee the field work education component of a baccalaureate Social Work program in an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Recruit new field placements. Develop and monitor social work field policies and placements. Organize and facilitate training for agency supervisors. Lead field work orientations and seminars for students and for agency supervisors. Advise social work students about academic and non-academic requirements. Maintain professional relationships with Program and community constituents. Teach social work practice courses and field seminars. Participate in Department and Social Work Program meetings. Provide service to the SW Program, the Department, and the College.

QUALIFICATIONS  MSW degree from a CSWE-accredited program required. PhD or DSW preferred. Minimum of four years post-MSW agency-based practice experience. Current NYS license in Social Work. Experience as a classroom instructor in a CSWE-accredited baccalaureate social work program preferred. Highly organized and detail oriented. Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills required. Adeptness with academic management and demonstrated competencies including proficiency in the use of technology to support administrative role and course instruction. Driver's license preferred and ability to travel throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Knowledge of social service agencies throughout the New York City metropolitan area.
