Student groups are responsible for creating, planning, and scheduling events which incorporate cultural, intellectual, and/or spiritual elements, and that engage students in extracurricular activities on campus. These activities support the College's academic programming, while also encouraging students to become involved with their peers in socially entertaining and sometimes interactive endeavors.

York College has over forty student clubs and organizations which organize a wide variety of events, including discussions about current issues, networking mixers, graduate seminar, cultural/ethnic celebrations, and talent and fashion shows. In this way, student groups like the Accounting Society, Music Club, Muslim Student Association, Haitian Students Association, the Helping Hands Cluba, and the SEEK Students Society, add to the culture of the college.
