Charter Review Committee
The Charter Review Committee was appointed by President Keizs in spring of 2010, as per the recommendation of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education in 2008, to examine, revise, and perhaps rewrite the College’s Senate Charter which guides the overall governance of the College. Dr. Linda Barley chairs the committee.
The Committee is comprised of three full-time faculty members, one ad hoc faculty member (chair of the faculty caucus), three administrators, and two students. They have been meeting monthly to review the previous York College Senate charters, as well as the charters of various peer institutions, and those of several other CUNY Sr. Colleges (Lehman, Hunter, Baruch). Drs. Linda Barley and Susan Letteney attended a 3 day workshop on College Governance in Washington, DC, in November 2010. The Committee keeping the College community apprised of its actions as important recommendations emerge.
