We all have been following the news reports about the Ebola outbreak in several West African countries and the few confirmed cases in the United States that are being treated. Sadly, one person in Texas who was affected by the virus has died. Most recently, we learned that a New York physician who treated patients in West Africa has been diagnosed with Ebola.

It is my pleasure to announce the substitute appointment of Ms. Leteria Scott to the position of Administrative Specialist replacing Reginald Madden in the President's Office, effective Monday, August 11, 2014.
I am pleased to announce that the Commissioner of Empire State Development has approved the STARTUP NY Designation Plan for York College. The designation creates a tax-free zone around York College for new and expanding businesses that meet the STARTUP NY criteria.

I am writing to bring to your attention a decision I am preparing to make regarding the Commencement Committee's recommendation to hold three distinct commencement exercises on the same day, by school, for our students, and to host the exercises in the Milton G. Bassin Performing Arts Center.

On Friday, November 8th, York College/CUNY hosted the latest in its Executive Leadership Breakfast Series. The breakfast featured Errol Louis, host of NY1’s "Inside City Hall" and Bob Hardt, political director of NY1 News, as commentators.
