Sharada Devi, Ph.D. is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of History, Philosophy, Black Studies, Anthropology, and Cultural Diversity. She lectures on Black Studies, including Black Women in the Atlantic World and Cultural Diversity. Dr. Devi received her Ph.D. in Psychology and Spirituality with Emphasis on African American Women: Racism and Sexism from The Union Institute and University in Ohio in 1994. She has a particular interest in how racism and sexism impede the psychological and spiritual wellness of African American Women. She is the author of Healing and Nurturing the Soul: A Spiritual Journey for African American Women. Other experiences include emotional and spiritual counseling and facilitating women’s support groups.
