Gerri Chanel, CPA, MBA teaches financial accounting and income taxation. Professor Chanel has over 25 years of experience in the accounting field, including roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Ernst & Young and as the manager in charge of U.S. taxes for a Fortune 500 corporation. She has been widely published in business and professional publications and is a recipient of the Connecticut Society of CPAs' Distinguished Author Award. Her research interests include various areas of taxation, including the effect of cultural factors, social norms, and enforcement mechanisms on tax compliance behavior and the history of accounting and taxation, as well as practices in accounting education.
