With the end of the fiscal year now approaching, I write to update you once again on the state of the college's 2012-2013 budget. As you may recall from my earlier budget updates, the college's FY 13 Financial Plan that the University Budget Office approved last summer projected a balanced budget and a 1% budget reserve at the end of the fiscal year. The plan also contained enrollment and revenue goals as well as Compact investments.
Due to enhancements taking place within the ePAF system, effective immediately departments should not move forward with processing any appointment/ reappointment ePAFs for the fall 2013 semester in the ePAF system. You can expect to use the enhanced ePAF system immediately after training. Shortly, You will receive an e-mail inviting you to one of several enhancement training sessions taking place between May 22nd and May 23rd. It is important that you or a representative that utilizes the ePAF system attend any one training session.

The University has entered into an agreement with the Professional Staff Congress/CUNY for a pilot phased retirement program for both faculty and staff. The program will be effective beginning with the fall 2013 semester.

Vanessa Crevecoeur-Ducas '07, has completed a doctorate degree six years after graduating from York College/CUNY with her undergraduate degree in Chemistry. She was the first York student to win the UNCF-Merck Award. Fittingly, it was her York mentor, Chemistry professor, Dr. Ruel Desamero, who shared her graduation news with the college community.
Adjunct health insurance through the PSC-CUNY Welfare Fund has been extended for a year and two months-through June 30, 2014. An agreement between the PSC and CUNY on the 14-month extension was reached today, and was supported by a vote by the Welfare Fund Board of Trustees.

The York College men's volleyball team has secured a bid to the 2013 Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) South Division Championship. The Cardinals have earned the #3 seed and will battle Ramapo College in the semifinal round on Saturday, April 20 at 1 p.m. The one-day tournament will be hosted by Stevenson University in Owings Mills, Maryland.
York College Aviation students recently enjoyed a day of flight training in Connecticut flying out of Republic Airport on Long Island. Among those at Republic to cheer on the students were President Marcia V. Keizs, Provost Ivelaw L.
