"Pathways to Degree Completion" General Education Curriculum

As many of you may have heard, in fall 2013, each CUNY campus, including York College, will implement new general education requirements for entering first-year and transfer students.

This common General Education curriculum is known as Pathways. Pathways will ease transfer between the University's community and senior colleges, and offer a more straightforward path to graduation.

All students who enter York College in fall 2013 and after will automatically be included in the Pathways curriculum. Students who are currently enrolled at York have the opportunity to "opt-in" to the new curriculum. Pathways has fewer credit requirements than York's current General Education curriculum, and allows students to use a single course to satisfy multiple graduation requirements. Students who have not yet finished their General Education requirements may thus benefit from switching to the Pathways Gen Ed.

To find out more about Pathways, visit the Pathways website or the Academic Advisement Center in 2C01. Students who have declared their major should contact their major departments to set up an appointment with an advisor.
