NYC Service Volunteer Opportunities (in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy)

Please see this message on volunteer opportunities from CUNY Vice Chancellor Jay Hershenson.

There are two City of New York sites that explain volunteer opportunities through NYC Service. The first link is more directly related to Hurricane Sandy. For now, the City site lists volunteer opportunities with the City's Parks and Recreation Agency. For any other volunteer opportunities, it directs visitors to fill out a form which is basically name, email, phone # and borough to match volunteers up with opportunities as they arise. The second City site, is more general and lists volunteer opportunities with other non-profits in the City (i.e. NYC Coalition Against Hunger). There is some overlap between the two sites. For the purposes of volunteering in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, people should use the first link directly below.

FYI - New York City needs your Blank! Is the motto for NYC Service. NYC Services leaves it up to the volunteer to fill in what they have to offer - time, skills, etc.
