The pairings for the 2010 Eastern College Athletic Conference Metro Division Men's Basketball Championships were announced Monday and York College, the # 3 seed, will host St. Joseph’s College (LI), the #6 seed, on Wednesday, March 3 at 7 p.m.
The York College men's and women's indoor track and field teams made school history, sweeping the 2010 CUNY Athletic Conference championships at the Armory in New York City Sunday evening. It is the first time that both teams have won the CUNYAC championship in the same season. The women’s team took home its first ever indoor title, while the men captured their fifth and their first since 2006.
Nicholas Hamilton-Lopez scored a career-high 36 points, handed out eight assists and made a number of key buckets down the stretch to lead the York College men's basketball team to an 88-84 win over Hunter College in the semi-finals of the 2010 CUNYAC/ Con Edison Men's Basketball Championships.

York College junior center Marcel Esonwune has been named the 2009-10 CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year. In addition, senior guard Nicholas Hamilton-Lopez and women's basketball sophomore Kadisha Wickham were named to the CUNYAC All-Stars First-Team.

Dear Colleagues: Last fall we began work on a new undergraduate research program to foster and strengthen undergraduate research throughout the college as a key aspect of enhancing student retention and graduation and enabling students to be more competitive for graduate schools and the workforce. As part of that pursuit I recently appointed as Director of Undergraduate Research Dr. Rishi Nath from the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science in the School of Arts and Sciences, whom I’m pleased to introduce.
The York College men’s volleyball team will hold a “Drive for Haiti,” during the CUNY Athletic Conference men’s volleyball multi-match on Saturday, February 6th at York College. The team will hold a canned food drive which will help to benefit the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

Ronald St. John, head coach of the York College men’s basketball team, won his 300th career game Friday night as the Cardinals defeated Wells College 95-92. The Cardinals, who were playing in the opening round of the Skidmore College Hilton Garden Invitational, rallied from a 17 point halftime deficit and outscored Wells 61-41 in the second half to get St. John to the historic milestone.

For the second consecutive year, York College junior Elysee Vilsaint has been named the CUNY Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Player of the Year. Also earning recognition from York was Jaime Hay and Francisco Florez, who were named to the First Team, and Hugo Cicanois and Ousmane Toure, who earned second-team honors.
