Who can use this service?

E-Mail Reference Service is available exclusively for current students, faculty, and staff of York College.

What is available through E-mail reference?

Questions of any kind may be posed through this service, but it is best suited for assistance with brief, fact-based questions, access problems, and questions relating to best resource options or starting points for research. We will also assist with research-related tasks, including brief instructions to using the Library’s online catalog, databases, and other resources.

We do not interpret information; provide legal, medical, or financial advice; and will not provide answers for class assignments. For in-depth research consultations, we encourage you to visit the Library for a face-to-face consultation with a Reference Librarian.

How long will it take to get a response?

We generally respond to questions within 48 hours.
