110th Birthday of Count Basie
The York College Library is celebrating the 110th birthday of longtime Southeast Queens resident William James "Count" Basie, who was born on Aug. 21, 1904.
A Family's Keepsakes
During Fall 2012 and early Spring 2013, the Library hosted an exhibit featuring Katharine Elizabeth Pettit’s letters, photographs, papers and documents. Mrs. Pettit Beach (1890-1978) of Venango County, Pennsylvania, had the foresight to save things that many of us would and do discard every day.
