Information for Web Content Editors
How Does This Affect Me?
The upgrade of the York Website has been completed and we appreciate your ongoing patience as we squash bugs and add functionality. Most of the improvements to the site are "under the hood" and impact users who login to the site.
The narrative and screenshots below illustrate how and what changes affect the process of logging into the York Website, the personalization of your dashboard, and how making and creating stuff (what we call content management) hopefully easier and more productive.
User Interface Changes Upon Login
The toolbar has been relocated to the top of the page before the navigation bar and it now has a darkgray background.
New Widgets Within the Visual Editor
The older version of the visual editor lacked intuitive controls (widgets) for adding attributes such as tags, related items, publish and expiration fields or simple search (query field).

Visual Editor UI has Been Upgraded Too.
The starkness of the current editor's user interface has been replaced.
The upgraded editor provides an overall motif that is more reminiscent of applications that you're used to using on a daily basis: such as Word or Excel.
