Logging Into The "New" Website
On the upper right corner of every page in the website you will find a black tab with a white disclosure triangle labeled "Logins".
Clicking on Logins activates a drop down menu giving you access to campus and university wide systems such as Email, SIMS, & Content Management to name a few.
For this exercise, we are going to select the last item on the drop down list labeled York Website/CMS. This is the "door" by which you enter the College's Content Management System (CMS/Website).
Select York College Website/CMS From Drop down
Click/Select this link (York Website/CMS) by mousing over it.
What to do Next? Logging in Using Your York Network ID Credentials
The above login splash page will appear after you've selected York Website/CMS from the dropdown menu.
Enter your York ID credentials and press return or click the ok button.
Note, The City University of New York requires all computer system passwords to expire every 60 days.
Note: Password maintenance can be performed (resetting, updating, challenge phrases etc) 24/7
by accessing www.york.cuny.edu/password.

A successful login will present you with a web page that is similar to the one above. You will find useful links to your:
- Dashboard Preferences
- Documents You've Created
- Your Home Folder
- CV and/or P&B Actions (if applicable)
- Reviewing P&B Documents (again, if applicable)
At this point you should be familiar with the login procedure and be able to now edit/modify/create documents as you did in the old design. I

An announcement that will show up on the news portlet and in the news listing. if it is happen in a specific time and place in the future it should be added as an Event not an announcement. These are automatically added to Facebook, twitter and the student eportfolio sites when published.

An always-updated saved search that can be used to display items matching criteria you specify.

Events can be shown in calendars and upcoming events listing (includes FYE events).

A frequently asked questions list.
Feature
An image, which can be referenced in documents or displayed in an album.
File
Lets you upload a file to the site. any non-web image file (ex. PDF, MOV, MP4, MP3, DOC, PPT, etc)
- if a pdf is uploaded the system will try to render the file with in the view page (if pdf supported)
- if a mov, mp4, flv, a video player is created automatically in the page view
- if a mp3, a audio player is created automatically in the page view

A web form creation tool, A folder which can contain form fields. (only admin can add this type)
Image
Images can be referenced in documents or displayed in an album. web format only (JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF)
Link / Redirect
Links to an internal or external resource. Link items are annotated URLs.

Ploneboard is the out most board object, what shows up in your site.
News Item
